“The Korea Academic Council on the United Nations System will hold an academic conference on May 28th” 

The Korea Academic Council of the United Nations System announced on the 25th that it will hold an academic conference on the “Uncertainty and Inequality in the International Society during the COVID-19 period” on the 28th.

The opening statement will be done by president Lee Shin-hwa and the closing speech by Han Kyung-gu, Secretary-General of the Korean Committee for UNESCO. Due to the COVID-19 sanitary context, it will be held online.

This conference was organized d to explore the role and cooperation between South Korea and the United Nations (UN) in the midst of changes and uncertainties in the regional security landscape around the Korean Peninsula due to COVID-19, and the threats that it causes to human security.

The conference will address several subjects such as the US-China strategic competition during the COVID-19 period, the US-China diplomacy, and the uncertainty and inequality in East Asian security during the period.
