On November 26, 2018, PDI invited Professor Enrique Peruzzoti of the Di Tella University (Department of Political Science and International Relations) in Argentina for the Peace and Democracy Forum. the topic of the forum was “Populism and democratic hybridization”.

Presenter started the forum by explaining how to explain the global diffusion of populism. In the wake of the third wave of democracy and liberal democracy, populism has manifested its presence in the Americas and Europe. These days, populism is characterized by being executed at the government level by the democratic power which is elected beyond the social movement. He expressed this phenomenon as “democratic hybridization,” paying attention to the relevance of liberal democracy and populism.
