[수당 해외학자 초청 콜로키움 #16] China’s Foreign Invested Enterprises in the Era of Decoupling

2022년 12월 19일 고려대학교 정치외교학과와 평화와 민주주의 연구소는 Jack Zhang 교수를 초청하여 수당 해외학자 콜로키움을 개최하였습니다. Zhang 교수는 University of Kansas에서 국제정치경제에 대한 연구를 진행하고 있으며 현재 평화와 민주주의연구소에서 방문학자로 활동하고 있습니다. 이번 콜로키움에서는 “China’s Foreign Invested Enterprises in the Era of Decoupling”에 대한 논문 3편을 발표하고 세션 참여자들과 질의를 주고받았습니다.
Jiakun Jack Zhang is Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Kansas (KU) and Director of the KU Trade War Lab (TWL). He teaches courses on East Asian politics, International Relations, Foreign Policy Analysis, and U.S.-China relations. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Political Science at UC San Diego and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a certificate in East Asian studies from Duke University. He was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance at Princeton University (2018-2019) and a Wilson China Fellow (2021-2022). His research explores the political economy of trade and conflict in East Asia. He is currently working on a number of projects on the U.S.-China Trade War as well as a book manuscript on the national security implications of economic interdependence with China. Dr. Zhang has been the recipient of various grants and awards, including a Fulbright U.S. Student Grant, the Charles Koch Foundation Foreign Policy Research Grant, the Minerva Research Initiative DECUR Partnership, the Smith Richardson Foundation World Politics and Statecraft Fellowship, and the University of California Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation Herb York Dissertation Fellowship. He is an alumnus of the Mansfield-Luce Asia Scholars Network, the Bridging the Gap Scholar Network, the YPFP U.S.-China Futures Project, and the CSIS Pacific Forum Young Leaders Program.
