The theme of the Forum was “Korea in the era of US-China Strategic Competition.” At the forum, John Mearsheimer, a world-renowned scholar studying the relations of the great powers and Professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago had a conversation with Dong Sun Lee, Professor of Political Science at Korea University, on the topic of “Intensifying Hegemonic Competition Between the U.S. and China and the Future of the World.” Watch here :

The speaker, Hong, hyunik, emphasized the importance of international politics surrounding the Korean Peninsula, and explained the direction of North Korea policy and national strategy and the environment of unification. Emphasizing that inter-Korean relations and the situation on the Korean Peninsula are largely influenced by external factors, rather than bilateral initiatives between South Korea and North Korea, it is important to create and maintain peace for the completion of unification.
