Mearsheimer (University of Chicago)                          Dong Sun Lee (Korea University) Organizers : Hankook Ilbo, The Korea Times THE KOR-ASIA FORUM 2022 hosted by the Hankook Ilbo, which provides an in-depth diagnosis of key global issues surrounding Korea, was held in Seoul on November 17th. The theme of the Forum was “Korea in the era of US-China Strategic Competition.” At the forum, John Mearsheimer, a world-renowned scholar studying the relations of the great powers and Professor of Political Science at the University of Chicago had a conversation with Dong Sun Lee, Professor of Political Science at Korea University, on the topic of “Intensifying Hegemonic Competition Between the U.S. and China and the Future of the World.” Watch here :

Presentation: Hyun-Ik Hong, Chancellor of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy Date: 19.11.2021, Fri, 17:00 Location: Korea University International Studies Hall, 115 Held by: Korea University Department of Political Science & International Relations, Peace & Democracy Institute On November 19, 2021, Woodang Academy workshop “Changes in the Situation on the Korean Peninsula and Korea’s Diplomacy and Unification Strategy” was held. The speaker, Hong, hyunik, emphasized the importance of international politics surrounding the Korean Peninsula, and explained the direction of North Korea policy and national strategy and the environment of unification. Emphasizing that inter-Korean relations and the situation on the Korean Peninsula are largely influenced by external factors, rather than bilateral initiatives between South Korea and North Korea, it is important to create and maintain peace for the completion of unification. On August 21, 2021 (Sat), Peace & Democracy Institute held a preparatory meeting for a joint seminar between undergraduates at Korea University and Yonsei University. The Korea University and Yonsei University Seminar was launched to broaden their views on various topics such as politics, diplomacy, and social issues through exchanges and seminars between universities based on the major theme of ‘Peace and Democracy’

The APSA NWorkshop was launched in 2019 by the Association of Southeast Asian Political Sciences (APSA) to strengthen its academic network with Asian political researchers.We conducted an online workshop with graduate students who are writing the document and Junior Faculty.
