Topic: Do International Bureaucrats Matter? Theory and Evidence from the International Monetary Fund Speaker: Amanda Kennard (Stanford University) Date: December 8, 2023 (Friday 09:30 AM) Venue: Zoom On Dec. 8, 2023, Korea University’s Political Science and International Relations and PDI invited Amanda Kennedy to the Soodang colloquium. Kennedy is studying the international politics of climate change at Stanford University. The colloquium was about international organizations the published paper titled “Do International Bureaucrats Matter? Theory and Evidence from the International Monetary Fund.” The paper showed that the policies of international organizations, such as the IMF, can be determined by bureaucrats with various purposes, not just following the demands of their member states. And the data analysis showed that the market reacts differently depending on which type of bureaucrats hold the main positions of international organizations. Participants’ attention was particularly drawn to the three-dimensional display of the research results using various research⋯
