Awards: First prize (1 paper/Presidential Commendation and 3,000,000KRW); Second prize (1 paper/Director’s Commendation and 2,000,000KRW); Third prize (2 papers/Chairman of the screening committee’s Commendation and 1,000,000KRW each)

[Pol in Love] Fall 2021 Round Table
The Peace and Democracy Institute launched the Pol in Love program jointly with the Department of Political Science and International Relations (PSIR) to strengthen the relationship between students and department alumni.
During the semester nine undergraduate students have been conducting interviews with prominent graduates of PSIR.
The Pol in Love team will hold a round table on February 23, 9:00-10:30 pm, to present the results of the interviews held in 2021 and reveal the plans for 2022. Considering the safety of all participants, the event will take place online via Zoom (link). We invite all interested students and alumni to participate. We welcome all suggestions and advice.

[Peace Studies] Call for Papers for Spring 2022 (Vol. 30, No.1)
Peace Studies, a KCI-listed journal published biannually by the Peace & Democracy Institute (on April 30 and October 30), is pleased to invite submissions for the Spring issue of 2022.
Peace Studies publishes academic papers related to peace in a broad sense. It covers various research topics related to political, economic, and social conflict and cooperation within countries, as well as structural, institutional, and normative approaches to international conflict resolution.
Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis in both Korean and English. If you wish to submit a manuscript, please use the online paper submission system https://peacestudies-ku.jams.or.kr/. Please refer to the Author’s Guide for paper preparation instructions.
The submission deadline for the 2022 Spring issue is midnight on March 1, 2022 (Friday).

[Pol in Love] Korea University – Yonsei University Joint Seminar

During a preparatory meeting on August 21, students from Korea University and Yonsei University agreed to launch a series of seminars on the subject of ‘Peace and Democracy’, where they will exchange opinions on various topics such as politics, diplomacy, and social issues. The first joint seminar will be held this Friday, October 29th at 10 PM on Zoom. The topic of discussion will be ‘Examination of the possibility of humanitarian intervention in North Korean human rights issues.’ We look forward to your interest and participation.

2021 Cybersecurity Paper Contest

- Topics: Technology – all areas of cybersecurity (system security, network security, applied security ) and converged security, industrial security- cybersecurity policy (ethics, law, organization, national strategy, international conflict, international cooperation and governance…)

- Eligibility: national and international undergraduate and graduate students
- Format: refer to the Korea Institute of Information Security & Cryptology: 12 pages – conform to the Korean Association of World Politics of Information: 15 pages
- Awards: 20 prizes in total. Grand prize (2 awards: Korean Association of Institute of Information Security and Cryptology award and Korean Association of World Politics of Information award / 5 million won each), Second best prize (4 awards / 3 million won each) and Encouragement prize (10 awards, 500,000 won each)

Dr. Ju Yeon Lee Transfers to Korea University Diversity Council
Dr. Ju Yeon Lee, a researcher at the Peace and Democracy Institute has accepted the position of Research Professor at Korea University’s Diversity Council.
